High school softball: Salisbury’s Peeler CCC Player of the Year

Salisbury senior Katie Peeler was named Central Carolina Conference Player of the Year for softball.

The Furman signee put up some extraordinary stats as a two-way player and led the Hornets to a 12-10 season.

She batted 558 with a .716 on-base percentage. She had five homers, six doubles and two triples and stole 25 bases.

She did most of the pitching for the Hornets and was 8-10 with 120 strikeouts and a 3.89 ERA.

Also making the All-CCC team from Salisbury were Allie Peeler, Katie’s sister, and Ashley Yang.
