Union Lutheran Church will continue its year-long celebration of the 250th anniversary with Pastor David Nuottila preaching on Mother’s Day. In honor of the holiday, a breakfast will be served and a meet and greet with Nuottila and his family.

Nuottila graduated in 2008 from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, S.C., with a masters in divinity degree. His first call as pastor was to St. Barnabas Lutheran Church in Charleston, S.C. He then received and accepted the call from Union to become pastor for the congregation in 2012.

As his pastorate at Union concluded, Nuottila accepted the call from St. Jacob’s Lutheran Church in Chapin, S.C., where he continues to serve today. Nuottila has served the Carolinas Mission Region in various ways. He chaired the CMR Missions Team for several years and has served on the Mission Region Council. He is also the director for mission partnerships for Congo Mission International.

Nuottila is married to Angela, his wife of 29 years. They have four children and two grandchildren and expect their third grandchild in the middle of May.

Union Lutheran Church is located at 4770 Bringle Ferry Road, Salisbury.
