Six injured in western Rowan County crash

ROWAN COUNTY — Six people suffered minor injuries in a crash in southwestern Rowan County on Monday.

The crash occurred at approximately 7:15 p.m. on Monday at the intersection of N.C. Highway 152 and N.C. Highway 153. Two vehicles were involved, a Ford passenger vehicle and a Honda minivan.

The driver of the Ford was turning onto Highway 152 to go towards west towards Mooresville, when the car ran into the path of the oncoming Honda, which was heading east towards China Grove, said a North Carolina State Highway Patrol trooper on scene. The two cars then collided, causing the Ford to run off the road, down an embankment and into the woods.

The driver of the Ford was transported to Atrium Health Cabarrus. Two adults and three juveniles from the Honda were also transported to Atrium Health Cabarrus. The trooper said that all six suffered minor injuries in the crash.

The trooper said that the driver of the Ford will have charges pending for unsafe movement.
