Shooting incident lands man in jail

LANDIS — A Rowan County man was arrested following a domestic-related shooting incident that occurred near Landis over the weekend.
According to a release from the Landis Police Department, Jacob Seth Jennelle was charged with shooting into an occupied property for his alleged role in the incident.
Per the release, at approximately 12:23 p.m. on Sunday, officers from the Landis Police Department responded to a domestic-related shooting incident at the intersection of U.S. 29 and Old Beatty Ford Road.
An unidentified victim reportedly sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident, and they were treated on the scene.
The release added, “The Landis Police Department would like to thank the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office and the China Grove Police Department for their assistance. We would also like to thank the Rowan County District Attorney’s Office for their assistance.
“The safety and well-being of our community members is our top priority. We are committed to thoroughly investigating this incident and are thankful for the collaboration and support of our neighboring law enforcement agencies.”
