BREVARD — The Brevard Tornados won two tough games against Pfeiffer, 6-4 and 5-3, to advance to the USA South Tournament championship series.

Brevard (22-17) will travel to Rocky Mount to play at regular-season champ North Carolina Wesleyan in the best-of-three series on May 10-11.

Right fielder and leadoff man CP Pyle (Carson) is batting .344 and has been a big part of Brevard’s success. He made a diving catch. He had a double in the first game and was on base four out of five times in the second game.

Jake Blevins (West Rowan) pitched well for five innings for Pfeiffer in the first game.

NC Wesleyan’s Cord Butler (A.L. Brown) was the USA South Pitcer of the Year  and probably will start the opening game of the championship series.
