High school baseball: Salisbury wins easily against North in first round of CCC

SALISBURY — Salisbury’s baseball team cruised into the semifinals of the Central Carolina Conference Tournament by beating North Rowan 15-0 on Monday.

The third-seeded Hornets (14-10) got strong pitching from Ben Young and Landon Tucker.

Salisbury’s offensive production included doubles by Mike Geter and Hank Webb.

Sixth-seeded North ended the season with a 3-14 record.

Next for the Hornets is a trip to Finch Field to take on second-seeded West Davidson. First pitch is set for 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
