High school girls soccer: Hornets get CCC road win

THOMASVILLE — Salisbury’s girls soccer team didn’t turn in one of its its stronger performances on Monday, but the Hornets did enough to beat Thomasville, 5-0.

Salisbury (7-2-1, 5-1) got a goal apiece from Jamilet Figueroa, Maddie Crabb, Addie Griffith, Cora Wymbs and Liz Escobar in the Central Carolina Conference contest.

Crabb had three assists.

Taylor Brown and Brianna Figueroa combined on the shutout.

Lola Koontz had an excellent defensive game for the Hornets, coach Matt Parrish said.

The win was the 298th at the helm of the Salisbury girls for Parrish.

The Hornets will host a very strong West Davidson team on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Ludwig Stadium.

Salisbury is 15th in the 2A West RPI rankings. West Davidson is third.
