Gearing up for a huge day of tractors, trains and fun

SPENCER — Guest are invited to join the North Carolina Transportation Museum for one of the most anticipated events of the year.

Enjoy an exciting day filled with modern tractors, antique farm equipment, farm life demonstrations and more at the annual Tractors & Trains event April 12-13. The event has something for everyone including kid’s activities, a tractor parade, hayrides and train rides. 

April 12 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. is exclusively reserved for students, home school groups and other pre-formed groups. Museum educators and partnering organizations will provide educational, fun-filled experiences throughout the day.  Train rides are offered at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., noon, and 1 p.m. for groups on Friday. 

On April 13 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., the public is invited to enjoy the same interactive demonstrations, antique and modern tractor displays and more. Attendees can vote for their favorite tractors and enjoy the popular parade of tractors at 3 p.m. Train rides are also offered on Saturday at 10 and 11 a.m., and 1 and 2 p.m.

Tickets for Saturday’s public Tractors and Trains event when combined with a train ride are $16 for adults, $14 for seniors/military, $12 for children 3-12, and free for members and children under age 3. Event admission without the train ride is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors/military, $6 for children 3-12, and free for children under 3. Tax and ticketing fees apply.
