KANNAPOLIS — The City of Kannapolis will celebrate 10 years of the Jiggy with the Piggy Festival with a variety of fun events including a new attraction — pig racing.

The festival returns May 2-5, to Downtown Kannapolis.

Pig racing will take place Friday and Saturday and is a great time for the entire family. Watch pigs speed around their track, “pig paddle” their way through the water obstacle and then burn up the sawdust as they race toward the checkered flag. There will be squeals of laughter as you cheer your little piggy on to victory.

Pig racing times: Friday, May 3 – 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.; and Saturday, May 4 – 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Jiggy is one of the largest sanctioned events by the Kansas City Barbeque Society and will once again host more than 50 barbecue competition teams who compete for top bragging rights and prize money.

This year our presenting sponsor is the Rowan CVB.
