In Salisbury Police Department reports:

  • Tampering with a motor vehicle occurred in the 1200 block of Bringle Ferry Road at 1:05 a.m. on March 26.
  • An attempted theft of a motor vehicle occurred in the 800 block of South Main Street between 5 p.m. on March 25 and 7:50 a.m. on March 26.
  • A larceny occurred in the 200 block of West Monroe Street between 8 p.m. on March 25  and 9 a.m. on March 26. The total estimated loss was $500.
  • Miscellaneous property damage occurred in the 100 block of West Liberty Street at 6:58 p.m. on March 26.
  • Carson Manning Bishop, 28, was charged with assault on a female by a male over 18 years of age, breaking and entering a building, interfering with emergency communications and a probation violation on March 26. A police spokesperson said that Bishop broke into his mother’s house and assaulted her on two separate occasions, most likely due to an argument over money.
  • Cheryl Jean Little, 43, was charged with injury to personal property on March 26.

In Rowan County Sheriff’s Office reports:

  • A burglary by forcible entry occurred at North Enochville Avenue at 8:12 a.m. on March 25.
  • Credit card fraud occurred at Twin Creeks Drive between noon on March 22 and 2:58 p.m. on March 25.
  • Christian Keller Smith, 34, was charged with two counts of failure to register as a sex offender on March 25. Smith was convicted of producing, promoting, advertising, distributing, possession or possession with the intent to distribute pornography involving juveniles in Bossier Parish, Louisiana.
  • John Joseph Erickson, 49, was charged with second-degree trespassing on March 25.
  • Kenard Rasean Gamble, 34, was charged with assault on a female and a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence on March 25.
  • Carrie Denise Barnette Ingram, 44, was charged with simple assault on March 25.
