College baseball: Honeycutt gets 4 hits in UNC victory

CHAPEL HILL — UNC center fielder Vance Honeycutt had a big day on Tuesday.

The former Salisbury High athlete had four hits in the Tar Heels’ 13-7 win against Rutgers.

He had two doubles and stole two bases.

Honeycutt has six homers, 25 runs scored and 20 RBIs in 17 games. He’s boosted his batting average to .357.

He’s stolen 12 bases in 13 attempts.

The Tar Heels are 15-2 and are 14-0 at home.

Honeycutt is expected to be a first-round draft pick in July.
