High school basketball playoffs: West girls, Salisbury boys, CC boys advance, stories to be added

MOUNT ULLA — West Rowan’s girls advanced to the 3A West Regional final with a 55-42 win against East Lincoln (29-2).

The second-seeded Falcons (29-1) will play top-seeded AC Reynolds (27-1) on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Joel Coliseum. AC Reynolds won 63-60 in overtime against Ben Smith.

Lauren Arnold led the Falcons with 18 points,. Emma Clarke had 13.

SALISBURY — Salisbury’s second-seeded boys shook off a slow start and beat sixth-seeded Randleman 78-56.

The Hornets (27-3) will play top-seeded Reidsville (27-0) on Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Joel Coliseum in the 2A West Regional final. Reidsville routed West Stokes 89-50 on Friday.

CONCORD — Second-seeded Central Cabarrus stayed undefeated with an 84-58 win against (Greensboro) Ben Smith on Friday.

The Vikings forced 24 turnovers and blocked 14 shots against  Smith (25-6).

DJ Kent scored 31 points and Catawba recruit Chase Daniel had 22 for the Vikings (31-0), who have won 63 in a row.

Central Cabarrus will play in the 3A West Regional final on Tuesday against top-seeded Hickory at 8 p.m.
