SALISBURY — The man who was killed in a vehicle crash Friday morning in Salisbury has been identified by police.

In a press release issued Saturday, the Salisbury Police Department confirmed that Mark Edward Brotheron, 48, was killed as a result of the vehicle collision in the 3600 block of South Main Street.

According to the press release, Brotherton was on a bicycle traveling towards Salisbury when he was apparently struck by a vehicle that was reportedly traveling in the same direction that he was. The release did not indicate exactly what time the collision occurred but did say that first responders were dispatched to the scene at 8:02 a.m. for an individual laying on the side of the road.

Upon arrival, first responders found Brotherton deceased.

Officers were reportedly able to determine that a possible vehicle involved in the incident is a 2008 to 2015 Nissan Armada that likely has damage to the right headlight area.

Anyone with information about the incident or the vehicle involved is asked to contact Master Police Officer Benjmain at 704-638-2117 or mbenj@salisburync.gov.
