SALISBURY — Downtown Salisbury, Inc. (DSI) launched a new website prioritizing better functionality for visitors and downtown businesses and organizations within the Municipal Service District.

The updated navigation provides organized content that will be easy for current and prospective businesses, residents and visitors to access. It will push visitors directly to downtown businesses’ websites, and social media pages, benefiting businesses and downtown events.

“We are excited to debut the new DSI website,” said Sada Troutman, downtown development/DSI director. “The new website will serve our current stakeholders, while also providing relevant information to prospective stakeholders in a clear manner. This was a unique challenge that DKM navigated wonderfully and I am proud of the result. We invite everyone to visit the new and improved website at downtownsalisburync.com to experience the newest way to stay in touch with DSI.”

The new website allows visitors even more ways to interact and engage, with added components such as

  • The Social District map, and the Main to Main Trail map
  • An interactive Downtown Master Plan map
  • Business listings page to help visitors plan their visit to downtown Salisbury
  • Updates about plans and projects happening in downtown

In addition, the new website will include downtown stories from the community via a community news/blog tool. In cohesion with DSI’s social media platforms, the “Meet the Owners” series will be included on the website as a blog post that links to the business listing page. Visitors will be able to continue signing up to receive the monthly newsletters and learn about Downtown Salisbury, Inc.

The new website was created in partnership with the City of Salisbury staff and DKM Media. The project was predominantly funded through the Rowan Arts Council Grassroots ARPA Grant and NC Arts Council.
