Faith Frosty Fest coming up on Saturday

FAITH — Faith’s second annual Frosty Fest will be held in downtown Faith this coming up Saturday, near the town’s stage and Legion Park. The event will feature a golf cart parade, ugly sweater contests and a tree lighting among numerous other activities.
The event will run from 2 to 8 p.m., with shows being held on the stage and food trucks and vendors being present throughout the park for most of the six hours. After dark will be the golf cart and ATV parade, ugly sweater contest and the tree lighting. Last year, the winning golf cart was a fully realized replica of Cousin Eddie’s broken-down Ford Condor RV from “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.” The second place cart was a cart ridden by a Santa Claus and fully decked out in Christmas lights.
Free s’mores packets will also be offered by Faith Civitan after dark.
Mayor Randall Barger, one of the main organizers of the event, said last year that the event drew more than 500 people. With more than double the number of crafters, vendors and food trucks registered for the second annual event, turnout could end up surpassing that number in 2023.
Entertainment will include visits from the Grinch, Rudolph and Frosty the Snowman; shows by Dimensions Dance Arts, Studio B Dance Studio, Faith Academy Chorus and South Rowan Chorus; and stories told by Daisy Bost and Mrs. Claus.
The event will also include a free ornament-making workshop, titled Santa’s Workshop, and a horse drawn hayride. The event will be held mostly at the stage located behind Faith Town Hall and American Legion Park.
