SALISBURY — The holidays are just around the corner and that means Salisbury’s “’Tis the Season Spectacular” parade and tree lighting ceremony will be taking place for residents ready to start celebrating as soon as possible. The parade is going to start in downtown Spencer at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 22, and find its way to downtown Salisbury at 3 p.m. The city will begin closing streets at 2 p.m. and they plan to be closed for roughly four hours.

Even though parade float submissions have already been filled, families can still come to enjoy all of the “diversity of ideas that portrays the goodwill associated with the holiday season.”

Thankfully, the fun doesn’t end with the parade. Afterwards, Bell Tower Green will host a tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. that is going to include street performers, food trucks, and Santa Claus himself. The band Too Much Sylvia will be performing as well.

The deadline to purchase reserved seating tickets for Spencer and Salisbury has passed, but attendees are encouraged to find their own spot on the sidewalks for free to check out the merrymaking and revelry. The festivities are scheduled to end at 8:30 p.m.
