SALISBURY – Salisbury Police Officer Israel McCants was arrested and charged yesterday in Mecklenburg County by N.C. State Highway Patrol for driving while impaired.

McCants joined the Salisbury Police Department in November of 2018, held the title of Police Officer II and was assigned to Patrol Team Baker. He has resigned from his position with SPD as is allowed per state statute.
