Gold Hill Fire Department to hold scavenger hunt

The Gold Hill Fire Department will be holding a back to School Scavenger Hunt Aug. 8 from 10 a.m. to noon.

This will be a socially distanced, drive-thru event at each location.

The department is looking for businesses, churches, fire departments schools, or police departments that may want to take part and promote their organizations while providing some fun for kids this summer. Organizations just have to hand out a “prize” geared toward children at their location. It can be candy, small toys, fire and police handouts, coupons and/or business promo products.

They must also be at a public location where cars can pull in and out easily and not interfere with traffic.

It is free to participate. If you know of any organizations that would like to participate, contact the Gold Hill Volunteer Fire Department on Facebook at facebook.com/goldhillvfd or the fire department’s auxiliary at facebook.com/goldhillvfdauxiliary. The department’s phone number is 704-279-8662.

The department asks for the organization name, hint/clue for your business and a photo to be used as a hint also.

An example of a clue is could be “where the Mustangs roam” for East Rowan High School.
