SALISBURY — A Salisbury woman faces a felony offense after she accused of forging a check with her father’s name on it. According to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, the woman obtained $500 to make purchases for herself.

Katlyn Dawn Weddington, 24, was charged on Thursday with one count of felony obtaining property by false pretenses. She was issued a written promise to appear in court.

She cashed three checks that totaled $500, said Capt. John Sifford.

The investigation showed that the checks were cashed via an online check-cashing system. In addition, there was $180 bill paid to Dish Network.
