Salisbury linebacker Jalon Walker (Class of 2022) had a strong showing at the Atlanta Elite Underclassmen Camp.

Salisbury linebacker Jalon Walker (Class of 2022) had a strong showing at the Atlanta Elite Underclassmen Camp.

Walker will be in the “Future 50” next year, The Future 50 are the best underclassmen high school football players in the nation and Under Armour All-America Game prospects.

Salisbury back JyMikaah Wells (Class of 2023) was invited to the Football University Top Gun Showcase in Naples, Fla.

Local golf

Salisbury’s Michael Childress (Cannon School, Richmond) shot 72-71-73 — 216 and tied for eight place in the Golfweek Myrtle Beach Collegiate   played at the 7,152-yard, par 72 Dye Club at Barefoot Resort in North Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Lansdon Robbins, a sophomore at UNC Wilmington, took top honors at 10-under 206 in a field of 78 collegiate golfers.

 

NC3 baseball

Kannapolis and Concord split a doubleheader on Saturday.

Kannapolis took a 6-0 win in the first game.

Jacob Baucom (four innings) and Chase Drinkard combined on the shutout,

Austin Dayvault had two hits.

Graham Brown pitched four scoreless innings for Concord.

In the second game, Maven Parker pitched Concord to a 4-3 victory.

Chris Allen pitched five scoreless innings for Kannapolis. Chase Ervin had two hits.
