SALISBURY — A man survived a shooting Friday on Admiral Drive after an unknown suspect shot him while he was taking out the trash.

The victim, 24-year-old Shareef Francise Bell, was approached by a hooded man who shot him. The type of weapon used is unknown, and Bell’s wounds were superficial.

The wounds were to the right side of his face, neck and left leg. Detective Rus DeSantis said the ammo appeared to be birdshot.

This incident is one of many shootings that already have occurred locally this month. A shooting on Green Street in Salisbury killed one and injured two others. There was also a shooting on Lloyd Street, a shooting at at Days Inn that resulted in injury, three other incidents over this weekend and eight shootings in two days in Kannapolis just a week ago.
