The article last week titled “Looking back on track” by Mike London certainly brought back many memories from that era.

Indeed, track and field was one of the main events in the old Western North Carolina High School Activities Association. Salisbury, North Rowan, Davie County and A.L. Brown High School were fortunate to have some of the best track and field athletes in the state as well as some of the best coaches.

In this period of social distancing, when we cannot attend actual events, Mike London continues to give us pleasure in reading his sports articles about past and present local athletes. For those of us of a more mature age, his research and chronicles of past events are particularly interesting.  All of us who read the sports pages of the Salisbury Post are very fortunate to have Mike continue to enlighten us with his articles.
