Man dies when backing boat into water at York Hill

LINWOOD — A man died Sunday while trying to unload a boat at the York Hill river access point on the Davidson County side of the Yadkin River, the Lexington Dispatch reported Sunday.
The newspaper, quoting Davidson County Sheriff Richie Simmons, said deputies responded Sunday to a report of a vehicle submerged at 10:17 a.m. A name and other identifying information were not immediately released.
Simmons told The Dispatch the victim was not able to exit his vehicle after it became submerged while he was backing a boat into the water.
