Letter: Why risk lives for monetary gain?

We all are living day to day with a deadly disease that can go anyplace that it wants to go.

There is no switch that will turn it off by a certain time or date. Experienced medical professionals internationally have yet to give clear answers in terms of a cure. The best advice so far, according to medical professionals, is social distancing.

I ask why any reasonable or responsible person would promote any action that will risk lives in exchange for monetary gain? There have been gains made in terms of flattening the curve. As a people we should continue social distancing until there is a better plan in place for our safety.

Which family member or friend are you willing to put at risk for monetary gain? Gov. Roy Cooper did the right thing.
