SALISBURY — Salisbury Police have identified Michael Todd Kluttz as the bicyclist who was struck by a vehicle and killed Sunday afternoon on East Innes Street.
Kluttz, 56, was traveling southeast against traffic when he was hit by a car driven by Samantha Gwyn Kirk, also of Salisbury, said police spokesman Lt. Lee Walker.
Kluttz had no identification with him when the accident occurred. Police had to first determine who he was and find his nearest relatives, Walker said.
Walker said Kluttz pulled in front of Kirk’s silver Hyundai Tucson while crossing the southbound ramp connecting East Innes Street and Interstate 85.
He said the investigation is ongoing.
