Blotter: Pair arrested for stealing shoes, man charged with felony assault
SALISBURY – A man and a woman were charged with felonies in connection to the theft of nearly $160 of shoes from Rack Room Shoes.
The charges stemmed from the theft of two pairs of flip-flops and a pair of shoes. Jeremy Lee Jacobs, 23, of Salisbury, allegedly concealed the shoes and used “a cutting tool similar to pliers to prevent the activation of an anti-shoplifting or inventory control device,” according to an arrest warrant issued for Jacobs.
Kaleigh Sierra Kiser, 28 of Salisbury, allegedly aided Jacobs by “stealing, taking and carrying away,” the shoes.

- On Saturday, Alex Burton Lagler, 28, of Rockwell, was charged with felony assault by strangulation and misdemeanor assault on a female for allegedly leaving bruises on a woman’s neck with his hand shaking the same victim, causing her head to hit a wall.
- Gary Kwame Vinson, 29, of Lexington, was charged with felony possession of a firearm by a felon, felony possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, misdemeanor resisting a public officer, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia on Sunday. Vinson allegedly attempted to flee the scene of a traffic stop and was found in possession of a 9mm handgun, marijuana and a red straw with cocaine residue. Vinson had previously been convicted of felony common law robbery in 2010.
- On Sunday, Michael Andreas Cook, 24, of Greensboro, was arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance on jail premises. Cook was also cited for DWI.
