Blotter: Pair arrested for stealing shoes, man charged with felony assault

SALISBURY – A man and a woman were charged with felonies in connection to the theft of nearly $160 of shoes from Rack Room Shoes.

The charges stemmed from the theft of two pairs of flip-flops and a pair of shoes. Jeremy Lee Jacobs, 23, of Salisbury, allegedly concealed the shoes and used “a cutting tool similar to pliers to prevent the activation of an anti-shoplifting or inventory control device,” according to an arrest warrant issued for Jacobs.

Kaleigh Sierra Kiser, 28 of Salisbury, allegedly aided Jacobs by “stealing, taking and carrying away,” the shoes.

In other reports:

  • On Saturday, Alex Burton Lagler, 28, of Rockwell, was charged with felony assault by strangulation and misdemeanor assault on a female for allegedly leaving bruises on a woman’s neck with his hand shaking the same victim, causing her head to hit a wall.
  • Gary Kwame Vinson, 29, of Lexington, was charged with felony possession of a firearm by a felon, felony possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, misdemeanor  resisting a public officer, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia on Sunday. Vinson allegedly attempted to flee the scene of a traffic stop and was found in possession of a 9mm handgun, marijuana and  a red straw with cocaine residue. Vinson had previously been convicted of felony common law robbery in 2010.
  • On Sunday, Michael Andreas Cook, 24, of Greensboro, was arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance on jail premises. Cook was also cited for DWI.
