SALISBURY — The number of positive Rowan County coronavirus cases continues to climb, with 69 positive cases reported Wednesday, according to the Rowan County Public Health Department.

There have been 1,009 total tests taken, with 940 of them negative. Currently, 11 people are hospitalized and 27 people have recovered. Rowan County officials are continuing to follow-up on the status of 29 people. Two people who have died from the virus.

The average age of those who have tested positive is 49.9.

State data show there have been 42,987 tests completed in North Carolina, with 3,426 of those being positive. There have been 53 deaths. State data show there were 386 people hospitalized on Wednesday.

Completed tests reflect testing completed by the NC State Laboratory of Public Health and reporting hospital and commercial labs. There are currently 90 counties statewide that have reported data to the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services.
