Rowan County Students honored by DAR

MT. ULLA – Three Rowan County students were honored by the John Knox Chapter of theDaughters of the American Revolution as DAR Good Citizens of 2020.
Nominated by their faculties and chosen by judges, the winners were Victoria Post of Jesse C. Carson High School, Madison Smith of West Rowan High School and Corey Snodgrass of South Rowan High School.
The Honors were presented at a brunch held at the Salisbury Main Library in the Stanback
Auditorium, hosted by Kathryn Davis, Regent and Deborah Alexander, Vice Regent and Chairman. The students received a Good Citizens Award of $50, a National DAR certification of recognition, Good Citizens Pin, a book and a DVD. Each student met high standards exhibiting the attributes of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism.
Post was also the DAR of N.C. District IV winner. She is a member of the Key Club, National Honor Society, girl’s basketball and senior class president with a GPA of 4.0.
Smith is a Crosby Scholar, member of the National Honor Society, marching band and varsity tennis. She has had a GPA of 4.0 of all four years of high school.
Snodgrass is the Battalion Commander for of the school’s JROTC, CAP
Airman, student body president and member of the National Honor Society with a GPA of 4.33.
