Rowan weather: Rain, with possible thunderstorms

If we can make it through today, we’ll have a break from the rain through Monday.

It’s going to be warm, with a high of 69; temperatures will fall quickly this evening. There is a 90 percent chance of rain, with thunderstorms possible before 1 p.m.; rain is likely between 1 and 4 p.m. A quarter to half inch is expected. Winds will be southwest at 7-15 mph, gusting to 22 mph. Some of the storms could be strong to severe.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy and cold, with a low of 36 and north wind at 5-11 mph.

Friday, Valentine’s Day, will be sunny and chilly, with a high of just 48. North winds will be at 5-9 mph. Friday night will be cold enough for a Valentine’s snuggle, with a low of 24 and north wind around 7 mph.

Saturday will be sunny and even chillier, with a high of 45. Northeast wind around 5 mph will calm in the afternoon. The low will be 30, with partly cloudy skies.

Sunday will be warmer, 55, with partly sunny skies. The low will be 35, with some clouds.

Monday will be mostly sunny and 59, then a 40 percent chance of showers moves in after 11 p.m. The low will be 45.

Showers are likely Tuesday, with a 60 percent chance of rain. It will be cloudy and 64. The same chance of showers is likely Tuesday night, with a low of 45.

Wednesday will be partly sunny and 56, with a 40 percent chance of showers.
