The Sweet Potato Queens are a fun-loving group of spirited women who are serious about raising money to fight cancer. You can recognize us by our red wigs and our tiaras.

Organized in 2001 as a Relay for Life team, the Queens raised over a quarter of a million dollars for the American Cancer Society.

This year the team of 25 women will be raising money for the Wallace Cancer Center, a comprehensive facility that will meet all of a cancer patient’s needs under one roof.

The event is at the Harold B. Jarrett Legion Post, 1024 Lincolnton Road, and features dinner, dancing, silent auction, half and half and raffles, as well as dancing to King Tunes plus a performance by Mother Blues.

$35 per person benefits the Novant Health Wallace Cancer Center.
