High school swimming: Salisbury girls win CCC championship

WINSTON-SALEM — Salisbury’s girls swim team won the Central Carolina Conference championship on Saturday at Winston-Salem State University.

Salisbury scored 397 points. Next were Oak Grove (340), North Davidson (278), Ledford (209), East Davidson (195), South Rowan (173), Central Davidson (142) and Lexington (139).

Katie Knorr won the 200 IM in 2:13.52 and the 100 backstroke in 1:01.53.

Emily Knorr won the 500 free in 5:09.85 and the 200 free in 1:57.20.

Salisbury won the 400 free relay, with Sage Huffman, Phoebe Hollingsworth and the Knorr sisters timed in 4:04.85.

Salisbury won the 200 medley relay, with the Knorrs, Huffman and Anna Grace Woolly timed in 2:00.76.

 

Boys

Oak Grove won the boys championship with 378 points. Next were North Davidson (300.5), Central Davidson (272), South Rowan (232,5), Salisbury (196), West Davidson (190), Ledford (183), East Davidson (124), Lexington (121) and Thomasville (38).

South Rowan’s Braxton Vagner won the 100 breaststroke in 1:08.48.

Roshen Amin led Salisbury with second places in the 200 IM (2:18.38) and 100 butterfly (56.72).
