Local students named to honors lists at colleges:

Eliabeth Weimer, of Salisbury, was named to the President’s List at Bob Jones University. Weimer is a senior graphic design major.

Chloe Cox, of Salisbury, was named to the President’s List at Southern Arkansas Universityu. Cox is a sophomore biology major.

Rachel Safrit, of Kannapolis, earned Part Time Honors at Southern University of New York Canton. Safrit is a health care management major.


College Graduations:

Cherina Overton, of Salisbury, graduated from Troy University.

Kristen Parker, of Granite Quarry, graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science in psychology.

Kaitlyn Smith, of Rockwell, graduated from Clemson university with a Master of Education in teaching and learning.


Shive Elementary Core Value Good Citizens of the Month:

Shive Elementary has recognized the following students as January Core Value Good Citizens of the Month for being a “Deep Thinker.” Each student received a personalized certificate, “All Star” star stick and will have his or her picture on Shive’s Core Value board for the month.
