Letter: Good memories made at Christmas in the Grove

It just spilled through the lips of our 8-year-old granddaughter Saturday night, at Christmas in the Grove: “Nana, it’s a perfect night. … The lights are so pretty, the Christmas music is playing, I’ve petted the animals, toasted a marshmallow, made a tree nativity ornament, toured the old mill, drank hot chocolate and now we get to ride through town with white horses pulling us. … Nana, I’m making a good memory, right now.”

Those words blessed my heart. I told her we must remember to thank all that put this idea into being.

Hard work is a small word for all that was available to so many. Thank you to the people of China Grove for giving their talents and a lot of time for Christmas in the Grove — a precious memory and a generous treat.
