SALISBURY — The Salisbury Chapter of the North Carolina Society Sons of the American Revolution is a wreath sponsor for the Wreaths Across America project at Salisbury National Cemetery on Government Road.

The theme for 2019 is “Everyone Plays a Part.” The wreath-laying ceremony will begin at noon Dec. 14 at the national cemetery historic location.

Wreaths Across America has as its mission to “remember, honor and teach,” and it is carried out each year by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at more than 1,600 locations in all 50 states, at sea and abroad. The goal is to place a wreath on the grave of every veteran from the Revolutionary War to present-day conflicts.

Wreath sponsorships are $15 each and may be made through the Wreaths Across America website, www.wreathsacrossamerica.org and following the links to “local fundraising group” and putting the chapter designation of NC0221 in the search bar.

Specific graves may be designated for Salisbury National Cemetery. The Salisbury Chapter participates in the three-for-two program that gets three wreaths for every two purchased.
