The town of Faith and the Faith Civitan Club will sponsor a Christmas tree lighting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, marking the beginning of the Christmas season.

The tree lighting will be on the new town stage, located behind Town Hall. It will begin with a Thanksgiving responsive reading and prayer.

The tree will be lit by Jim Deal, a War World II veteran.

Carolers will lead participants in singing Christmas songs. The Faith Fire Department will escort a special guest into town as the crowd sings “Here Comes Santa Claus.”

Santa will greet children and adults, who will have a chance to talk to ole St. Nick.

Hot chocolate, spiced cider and cookies will be served by the Faith Civitans.
