Rockwell VFW Post 9134 Celebrates Golden Anniversary
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S. is proud to announce VFW Post 9134 in Rockwell, NC, will be celebrating 50 years of serving the needs of local veterans and their families on Nov. 20, 2019.
The Golden Anniversary Award Citation is presented to the Post in recognition of 50 years of outstanding service to the community.
William “Doc” Schmitz, national commander of the VFW of the U.S., congratulated members of the Post: “I send my sincere thanks and appreciation to the members of VFW Post 9134 for their outstanding record of service to the community, veterans and to the nation over the past 50 years.”

KHA presents An Evening With Norris Dearmon
‘97 Years In 60 Minutes’ : 7 p.m. Nov. 4
KANNAPOLIS — Kannapolis’ very own “Mr. History” himself, Norris Dearmon, will share his life story at the November meeting of Kannapolis History Associates. Learn how he first became interested in history, his involvement with the History Room, his employment at Cannon Mills and his former business, as well as his WWII enlistment, family, hobbies and public service.
(How many people do you know that can still wear clothes from ten years ago, let alone from the 1940s? Norris still fits into his WWII military uniform.)
