230 S. Lee house demolition paused …

As a resident of the Brooklyn South Square, I would like to see this house saved instead of a parking lot.

What I would really love to see is the city buy the six-unit apartment complex on the 200 block of E. Bank Street, tear it down and move this house to that lot..

— Greg Rapp

This makes you wonder how much the city has already spent removing the siding.

And now, as an afterthought, they are considering saving it. Very poor planning. Tax dollars wasted everyday.

— Cathy Cowan Basinger

As a historic house owner I offer my intention of saving the house. It needs a lot of work, but I am willing to work hard and make it a great home again.

Let’s hope they save the property for future generations.

High school football: Shaw a magnet for magic

Massey’s Rating prediction for the Salisbury vs. Ledford game was an epic failure: SHS 30 Ledford 6.

Dr. Magryta on vaping

I’d like to see a column about the health risk of guns and assault weapons.

It may be too hot a political issue for a doctor to discuss in a local paper, but I would guess guns and the anxiety cause by fear of guns would be the cause of significant health problems for many children.

— Sam Post

It’s very cool to have organic growth from a long time, hometown company.

Steve Roberts: Truth will always matter more in America

One thing we know: liberals are so honest. They always tell the truth. Let’s all “guffaw” with laughter now.

Teen killed in Cabarrus discovered in Rockwell

I grew up with his dad, Eric. I’ve known Hunter his whole life.

We live across the street from his grandma.

This is so very sad. I’m sick at heart to read this.

— Pam Laury

My kids were good friends of Hunter. This is so very sad.

My heart is broken. Rest easy sweet boy; you will be greatly missed

— Heather Bolling

I live on the road he was at. I actually saw the car. I thought it was just a broke down car. My heart goes out to the family.

I can’t imagine losing someone this way, especially so young.

— Charli Mae Taylor

Hunter was my best friend. I remember we went to his grandmother’s lake house over the summer.

NC justice: Rights given to people by God …

It’s too bad God doesn’t intercede when one person’s rights are not recognized by another.

You might think your rights come from God, but it is the laws of man that protect them.

… Fundraiser sealed vote for Heggins

I see a lot of folks wasting time and energy on issues concerning their own self pride.

Look at the facts and you’ll find there’s really no reason at all to impugn the honor of Al Heggins. It upsets me really.

This past council arrangement, of which I am still a fan, should have been collectively dialing in on city efficiencies by now, not bogging itself down and not still lamenting the last cycle’s surprising outcome.

— Brian Pfaff

Letter: Heggins treated unfairly by Post …

I’m sure that Al Heggins is a nice lady, but if I remember correctly, and I believe I do, Salisbury’s last mayor, Karen Alexander, was treated with much rudeness and disrespect, especially during public comment at the meetings. People were absolutely nasty at times.

Mayor Heggins isn’t the first mayor to be treated unfairly and disrespectully.

We all tend to have a selective memory at times.

Rowan Sheriff’s investigators warn of residents scammed …

I don’t know how people fall for this. Just hang up. If it’s real they’ll keep calling back.

— William H Moffitt

I thought for sure you could mention the scam created in Landis.

Just think of all the people there who have been scammed out of their money with the utility bills increased to protect someone’s lavish lifestyle.

— Kelly Cooke Owens

Lyndy is the best personal trainer you can ask for, and her amazing personality helps you also stay motivated.

The YMCA of Rowan County is so blessed to have her. Way to go Candice and Lyndy.
