Rowan weather: Sun today, then showers

We’re starting to get the much-needed cooler temperatures and rain of fall, but we’ll have partly sunny skies today, with a high of 71 and east wind around 5 mph this afternoon.

Tonight has a 60 percent chance of showers, with possible thunderstorms. Most of the rain will be after 2 a.m. It will be mostly cloudy and 59, with south southeast wind at 3-6 mph. Patchy fog is possible after midnight. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected.

Tuesday’s chance of rain will be 80 percent, with showers and thunderstorms, some of which could be strong. The day will start with patchy fog. The high will be 72, with south southeast wind around 8 mph shifting to west southwest in the afternoon. A quarter to half inch of rain is possible.

Tuesday night will have a 30 percent chance of showers, mainly before 7 p.m. It will be a mostly clear night, with a low of 43 and west northwest wind around 6 mph.

Wednesday will be sunny and 66, with northwest wind at 5-7 mph. The low will be a cold 40, with clear skies.

Thursday will be sunny and 68. The low will be 46, with some clouds.

Friday will be mostly cloudy and 66, with a 50 percent chance of showers starting as early as 7 a.m. The same chance of rain is possible Friday night, with a low of 50.

Saturday will have a 40 percent chance of showers and be mostly cloudy and 65.

The chance of showers drops to 30 percent Saturday night, with mostly cloudy skies and a low of 47.

Sunday will be partly sunny and 68, also with a 30 percent chance of showers.
