WOODLEAF — Two men are charged with weapons and robbery offenses after a botched robbery in September at a Foster Road home that resulted in the death of 35-year-old Robin Otto Worth Jr.

Rowan County Sheriff’s Office investigators said Dundrielle Lafrank Blakeney, 40, and Dandre Treshaun Mitchell, 24, were arrested in the shooting death at 5920 Foster Road. Investigators said the men went to the house to rob the occupants of the home, Daquan and Ronnie Martin, both of whom were shot in an exchange of gunfire.

The Martins went to Davis Hospital in Statesville for treatment of gunshot wounds. They were transferred to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in serious condition.

Worth died in the front yard of the Foster Road home.

Blakeney, of East Spencer, was charged with felony discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling and possession of a firearm by a felon. He remains in the Rowan County jail under a $500,000 secured bond.

On Wednesday, Mitchell was charged with felony attempted armed robbery and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Mitchell, of Kannapolis, was found at the Colonial Apartment complex on D Avenue in Salisbury. Detectives searched the apartment and found marijuana, along with evidence that may be related to the attempted robbery in September.

Mitchell remains in the Rowan County jail under an $85,000 secured bond.

Sheriff’s Office officials said more charges are possible against Mitchell.

The shooting investigation was reviewed in September with the Rowan County District Attorney’s Office. The shooting was determined to be in self-defense, so murder charges in Worth’s death were not filed.
