Partners in Learning block party scheduled Oct. 25

SALISBURY — Partners in Learning, in partnership with Smart Start Rowan, is sponsoring a block party from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 25 at its Novant site, 519 Best St.  

Best Street will be blocked off from the corners of West Cemetery to Holmes streets for the Fall Fest Family Block Party. 

Admission is free.

Partners for Safety will host a sensory-sensitive touch-a-truck location during the block party.

Families who attend and have a loved one with a special need will be able to register their home as “a child with special needs lives here” in case of an emergency situation.

The block party will offer games, photo booths, snacks and hay rides. The Salisbury Police Department will bring the N.I.C.E Truck, providing free ice cream.

The highlight of the evening will be results of a competition between Partners in Learning Catawba and Partners in Learning Novant.  A “penny war” is being held beginning Oct. 21. The culmination will be at 6:45 p.m. at the block party, when Executive Director  Norma Honeycutt will get a pie presented to her by the director of the winning site.
