North Rowan Middle School football goes undefeated

SPENCER — North Rowan Middle’s football team beat Knox  42-6 on Wednesday to finish a 7-0 season.

North outscored opponents 236-30.

Offensive leaders for the Mavericks were Michael Geter, T’sion Kelly, Jae’Mias Morrow, RJ “Odell” Moore, Timothy Thompson, Christopher Barringer, Ka’nijiea “Big Naj” McCoy, Anwar Davis and Saye Edwards.

Defensive leaders included Khor’on Miller, Shymeek Verdell, Zack Foster, Amir Alexander, Dameron Johnston and Linus Griffith.

Special teams leaders were Michael Strickland, Davion Williams and Mqwasi Walker.

Geter threw a 70-yard touchdown pass to Kelly to start the scoring on Wednesday and also had a 20-yard TD pass to Moore and a 35-yard scoring run.

Morrow scored two rushing touchdowns, including a 60-yarder. Verdell   had a 65-yard scoring run.

Moore intercepted a pass.
