Auxiliary scholarships

Two nursing scholarships were presented at the September meeting of the board of directors of the Novant Health Rowan Medical Center Auxiliary.

The two-year scholarships were presented to Damola Ogunyomi and Sade Patterson, both first-year nursing students at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.

At a luncheon, the two scholarship winners and their families were welcomed by auxiliary board President Jane Creech and introduced by scholarship Chairman Georgia McCorkle.

The auxiliary board awards scholarships to promising students chosen from applicants who best demonstrate the ideals of the profession. One of the goals of the auxiliary is to help create an understanding of the medical center and its services in the community and to provide support to those preparing for jobs in health care.
