SALISBURY — A Salisbury man is charged with forcing an 11-year-old Missouri girl to have sex with him multiple times.

Peace Elluvasun Allah Cush-El, 49, of 1600 block of North Lee Street, was arrested Friday by U.S. marshals with the help of the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office. He is charged with statutory rape and two counts of statutory sodomy.

Investigators in St. Louis said the assaults happened between March 2017 and May of this year.

After he was arrested, investigators say Cush-El tried to invoke his rights as a “sovereign citizen” and refused to let officers fingerprint him. He was issued a $1 million bond.

He refused to give authorities any personal information. He had a first appearance in court on Monday.

Cush-El was sent to a Greensboro facility and extradited to Missouri.

In 2014, the Lexington Police Department investigated Cush-El, who was listed as Peace Elluvasun Allah. He was charged with two counts of felony rape of a child and three counts of felony sexual offense with a child.

That case was reported to authorities through a medical facility in Rowan County.
