Tonight at Lilly’s Chapel Church of God
Lilly’s Chapel Church of God, 618 W. Thomas St, is having its 104th annual General Assembly Sept. 18-22 at 8 p.m. Guest speaker on Friday, tonight, will be Bishop Willie Littlejohn, pastor of Mt. Ushers Convention at Guiding Light
EAST SPENCER — The Guiding Light Missionary Baptist Association, 308 Boundary St., will hold its annual Ushers Convention beginning Saturday at 10 a.m. Host moderator is the Rev. John E. Jones.

Horizon Church hosts bash
STATESVILLE — Horizon Church, 316 Signal Hill Drive, along with ministry partner In His Steps, have joined together for a fundraiser “End Of Summer Bash” on Saturday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. There will be concessions, inflatables, games, cake walk and food. $8 includes all games and inflatables. Service in the Park for Luther’s Lutheran
RICHFIELD — Luther’s Lutheran Church, at the corner of Stokes Ferry and Richfield Roads, will meet at Dan Nicholas Park on Sunday at 11 a.m. for its annual Service In The Park. Gather at Shelter no. 1 and stay for the picnic lunch afterward.

Homecoming at Faith Lutheran
FAITH — Lutheran Church, 205 S. Main St., holds its homecoming service on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Eric Fink, a son of the congregation, serving as guest preacher. A covered dish luncheon will follow in the family life center.

Homecoming at St. Paul’s Episcopal
St. Paul’s Episcopal, 930 South Main St., is having its annual homecoming on Sunday, starting with Morning Prayer at 10:30 a.m. followed by a covered dish luncheon in the Parish Hall.

Global Missions Sunday at Southern City
EAST SPENCER — Southern City AME Zion Church, 940 South Long St., celebrates Global Missions Sunday at the 11 a.m. service with speaker Rev. Margaret Anderson, associate minister of Soldiers Memorial AME Zion Church and current president of the AME Zion Church International Ministers’ Spouses and Widows(ers) Fellowship.
Global Missions Sunday is being observed in all AME Zion Churches across the world. Marva McCain is the local Missionary President and Rev. Patrick Tate is host pastor.

Homecoming at Concordia Lutheran
CHINA GROVE — Concordia Lutheran Church will hold homecoming on Sunday at the 11 a.m. service. Note the History Room, which contains furnishings from the original church built in 1882 and a pump organ used in worship prior to 1949. Historical memorabilia will be displayed in the fellowship hall.
Fellowship breakfast is at 9:30 a.m., Sunday school at 10 a.m. and the 11 a.m. speaker is Taylor Rister, from the North American Lutheran Seminary, and currently a seminary intern for St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in Maiden.
A picnic lunch will follow the service.
The host pastor is Kenneth Reed Jr.

Homecoming at Genesis Baptist
CHINA GROVE — Genesis Baptist Church, 9710 Old Concord Road, celebrates 18 years on Sunday at 11 a.m. with lunch served after the service.
Genesis was established Sept. 9, 2001 at Townhouse II Restaurant Kannapolis; relocated Oct. 21, 2001 to E. 20th St. Kannapolis;

Sept. 2002: Ground breaking; May 2003: First service in the new church; Sept. 2007: adjoining 22 acres purchased;
June 29, 2010: Note signed for $1,325,000 for new sanctuary; June 29 Note paid in full.

Global Missions Sunday at Third Creek AME Zion
CLEVELAND — Third Creek AME Zion Church, 415 E. Main St., will observe Global Missions Sunday on Sunday at 11 a.m. The theme is: “Missions: Blessed When We Consider Others.”
