Dear Time Out Readers —

Starting Sept. 26, the Salisbury Post will reconfigure its weekly Timeout section.

More local arts and entertainment news and features will be added in place of television listings.

A full-page crossword puzzle will migrate to the Time Out section.

Added content will also include book reviews, Rowan Public Library columns, weekly bestsellers and more.

Post Publisher Greg Anderson said the newspaper’s management team has long considered eliminating the TV listings because of the large amount of newsprint it takes to publish them and because of the evolving way that people can better access TV programming information through the internet and on their television screen.

“This was not an easy decision because we know that some of our readers still enjoy and rely on the TV listings,” Anderson said. “In a time when newsprint is significantly more expensive and in shorter supply, we must be more focused than ever on our core mission of local news and local information.”
