Regarding the article about Mayor Al Heggins’ travel history published Sunday (Heggins’ travel expenses top those from recent mayors”), convening with other municipalities on planning and developing a city the size of Salisbury is a wise decision.

Our lovely city, with all of the bright people, does not have all the answers or ideas. We need that input from other cities on what has worked for them and what could work for Salisbury.

That said, I believe the dollar amounts stated are relative to the increase of travel costs across the boards. Four years ago, a hotel room was a lot more affordable than that same room is today..
