Blotter: Salisbury man charged with marijuana, weapon offense

SALISBURY — A Salisbury man was charged Tuesday with felony marijuana possession and a weapons offense at a traffic stop in the 1300 block of Standish Street.

The Salisbury Police Department charged Daeshore Aceem Lyles, 25, of the 200 block of Henderlite Street, Apartment A, with felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a controlled substance Schedule VI and felony possession of carrying a concealed weapon.

Police stopped Lyles’ 2006 Dodge Charger because of a window tint violation. When he got out of the vehicle, a gun found was found in the floorboard, along with $481 in cash and 34 grams of marijuana.

Lyles was released from the Rowan County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond.

• A man reported vandalism Tuesday in the 200 block of South Craige Street.

• Yanely Espinoza, 22, was charged Tuesday with assault on emergency personnel in the 300 block of North Main Street.
