DENTON – Project Santa has received $1,725 from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation to help feed local residents.

The donation will be used to buy food for children and families in need in the Denton and eastern Rowan County areas.

Project Santa, which serves throughout the Carolinas and beyond, has received contributions from Food Lion for more than 18 years.

The nonprofit organization will use the gift to buy food for the less fortunate in the areas it serves. The organization provides a food pantry for children and families throughout the year in addition to the Christmas season. Project Santa will provide about 350 food boxes to the needy in 2019.
