KANNAPOLIS — The city of Kannapolis is developing a long-range plan for Cannon Boulevard (U.S. 29).

The boulevard is a major transportation and commercial corridor for Kannapolis, along with surrounding communities in Cabarrus and Rowan counties. The plan will include strategic land use and transportation and design recommendations.

The city is seeking contractors for planning, transportation, engineering, streetscape and landscape design. The deadline to submit qualification statements is 5 p.m. Sept. 18.
