Man wanted for December robbery arrested in Lexington

A Rowan County man who has been on the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office most wanted list since December was arrested this week.

Kenneth Wayne Shepherd, 49, also known as Kenneth Shepherd, remains in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $50,000 secured bond.

He was wanted for the Dec. 6, 2018, armed robbery of the Rushco gas station, 1190 Long Ferry Road. Rowan County detectives and Lexington Police officers located Shepherd hiding in a car in Lexington. Officials said Shepherd resisted being arrested, but was taken into custody.
